(June 27, 2015) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team rolled through the pit gate at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois tonight for a $1,200 to win weekly UMP program. Mike ran sixth in his heat race, but won his B-Main to gain access into the feature event. After starting the A-Main from the outside of the eighth row, "Opie" drove past six competitors en route to a steady tenth place finish.

(June 26, 2015) Tonight's UMP DIRTcar weekly show at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois, which was scheduled to pay $1,000 to the winner, has been rained-out.

(June 23, 2015) The Spatola Racing team dropped back on the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour tonight for a stop at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois. Mike Spatola III qualified sixth fastest in his group during the time trial session, but was later involved in a wreck during his heat race and was relegated to a ninth place effort. After winning the C-Main, Mike was forced to rely on a provisional to gain access into the $5,000 to win main event. The Manhattan, Illinois native then moved up eight spots during the course of the 40-lapper on his way to a fourteenth place showing.

(June 21, 2015) Mike Spatola III and the Spatola Racing team returned to dirt-slinging action at Hartford Speedway in Hartford, Michigan and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois over the June 19-20 weekend. On Friday night at Hartford in a weekly $1,500 to win Super Late Model showdown, Mike won his heat race prior to finishing an impressive runner-up in the main event. At FALS on Saturday evening, the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour presided over a $10,000 to win program. "Opie" set Fast Time overall during qualifying and later won his loaded heat race, but a broken right rear shock while running second in the 50-lapper dropped the Manhattan, Illinois native to a disappointing twenty-first place showing. (June 13, 2015) The UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals presided over the annual 'Masters' finale tonight at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin and a $10,000 top prize was on the line. Mike Spatola III knocked down the fastest lap overall during the qualifying session and later ran second in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the third row in the 50-lap main event, Mike wound up slipping back to a seventh place effort tonight at CLS.

(June 12, 2015) Tonight's $1,500 to win weekly UMP show at Hartford Speedway in Hartford, Michigan was rained-out. The #89 team is now headed to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin to compete in the $10,000 to win 'Masters' finale on Saturday evening, June 13.

(June 11, 2015) The Spatola Racing team kicked off a huge extended weekend of racing action tonight at Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois. The UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour rolled into the fairgrounds venue to preside over a $5,000 to win throwdown. Mike Spatola III clicked off the fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session prior to running second in heat race action. After starting the 40-lap headliner from the outside of the third row, "Opie" climbed all the way up to second to finish behind his cousin and winner Frank Heckenast, Jr.

(June 7, 2015) Mike Spatola III picked up his second feature victory of the 2015 campaign on Friday evening, June 5 at the nearby Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois! After timing in third fastest in qualifying and advancing up to second in his heat race, Mike led from flag-to-flag in the weekly main event to score the $1,200 payday over Jay Morris, Lyle Zanker, Steve Dimmick, and Rich Bell. On Saturday night, June 6 in a similar $1,200 to win program at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, "Opie" ran fourth in his heat race to earn the outside fifth row starting spot in the A-Main. Mike then blasted all the way up to second at FALS to earn an impressive runner-up showing behind only victor Kevin Weaver. (May 25, 2015) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team traveled to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening, May 23 for a regular weekly Super Late Model throwdown. Mike ran third in his heat race and later started the $1,200 to win main event from the inside of the fourth row. The Manhattan, Illinois native had then moved all the way up to third in the running order of the feature before a flat right rear tire caused him to retire in the seventeenth position. Spatola Racing Competes in Illini 100 Weekend at Farmer City Raceway...
(April 19, 2015) Spatola Racing trekked to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on April 17-18 for the annual 'Illini 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Unfortunately, Mike Spatola III was unable to transfer into both feature events over the action-packed weekend. In the $6,000 to win weekend opener on Friday night, Mike finished fifth in his heat race and fifteenth in his B-Main - due to a wreck. On Saturday evening in the $15,000 to win 'Illini 100' finale, "Opie" got into the wall during qualifying and later ran eleventh in both his heat race and his B-Main. Mike Spatola III Runner-Up in Don Bohlander Tribute at Peoria!
(April 12, 2015) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team rolled into Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois on April 10-11 for a pair of Super Late Model events. On Friday night at Farmer City, a $1,000 paycheck was on the line in a weekly UMP DIRTcar Series show. Mike timed in tenth fastest in qualifying and later ran fourth in heat race action. After starting the A-Main from the outside of the fifth row, "Opie" hung around the top ten before eventually claiming a twelfth place performance against a strong field of competitors.

At Peoria on Saturday evening, the annual running of the 'Don Bohlander Tribute' paid $5,000 to the winner. Mike once again clicked off the tenth quickest lap during time trials prior to scoring the win in heat race action. After rolling off from the pole position in the 50-lap affair, the Manhattan, Illinois ace ran second in the entire distance and finished an impressive runner-up behind only race winner Bobby Pierce. Spatola Racing Kicks Off 2015 Season in Thaw Brawl at LaSalle Speedway
(April 5, 2015) Spatola Racing started their 2015 racing season over the April 3-4 weekend in the annual 'Thaw Brawl' at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. On Friday night, Mike Spatola III knocked down the quickest lap overall during American Late Model Series (ALMS) qualifying and later finished fifth in his heat race and seventh in the $5,000 to win lid lifter. At LaSalle on Saturday evening, Mike qualified fastest in his group once again and later bagged the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row in the $15,000 to win headliner, "Opie" drew a late caution in the 75-lapper and was placed sixteenth in the final finishing order.
