Spatola III Battles National Stars in Prairie Dirt Classic
(July
31, 2022) A busy month of July for Spatola Racing
wrapped up on July 29-30 with the annual running of the 'Prairie
Dirt Classic' at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. The
World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Model Series once again
sanctioned the mega-event, which boasted a $50,000 top prize along
with lap money.
On Friday night during preliminary action, Mike
Spatola III timed in twentieth fastest in Group B during the qualifying
session prior to winding up eleventh in his $3,000 to win preliminary
feature. In front of a packed house on Saturday evening, Mike
received a provisional to gain access into the 100-lap PDC and
eventually earned a twenty-fourth place performance. Complete

Top Ten for Spatola
Racing in $3,000 Junior Kimler Memorial
(July
23, 2022) A single event greeted the Spatola Racing
team this weekend, as they invaded Farmer City Raceway in Farmer
City, Illinois on Friday night, July 22. The MARS Racing Series
sanctioned the annual running of the 'Junior Kimler Memorial'
and a $3,000 winner's check was on the line. Mike Spatola III
stopped the clock fifth quickest overall during the qualifying
session prior to grabbing the fourth transfer spot through his
heat race. After starting the 30-lapper from the inside of the
fourth row, "Opie" wound up slipping back to ninth by
the time the checkered flag flew over the strong field. Complete

Hell Tour Stop at
Farmer City Washed Out Again; Tenth at FALS
(July
17, 2022) After another rain-out of the $10,000
to win DIRTcar Summer Nationals show at Farmer City (IL) Raceway
on Friday, the #89 team rolled back into Fairbury Speedway in
Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening, July 16. A weekly FALS
Cup showdown was on tap at Fairbury last night and a $2,500 top
prize was up for grabs. Mike Spatola III placed second in his
stacked heat race and later started the A-Main from the outside
of the second row. When the dust had settled at FALS, Mike was

Mike Spatola III Sees
Rain at FCR; Runner-Up in FALS Special
(July
10, 2022) Following a rain-out on Friday night
at Farmer City (IL) Raceway, the Spatola Racing team headed to
Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening, July
9 for the 'Bob Harty Memorial,' which boasted a $3,500 first place
prize. Mike Spatola III stopped the clock second fastest overall
during qualifying before running second in his heat race. After
rolling off from the inside of the third row in the A-Main, Mike
was able to work his way past a trio of competitors en route to
a strong runner-up effort behind only victor Mckay Wenger! Complete

Spatola Racing Places
Second at Farmer City & Fifth at FALS
(July 3, 2022) The
Spatola Racing team celebrated the Independence Day holiday weekend
at two area tracks - Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois
and Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. On Friday night in
a $1,000 to win weekly show at Farmer City, Mike Spatola III earned
Fast Time honors during the qualifying session prior to running
second in his heat race and a strong runner-up in the A-Main behind
only victor Mckay Wenger. At FALS on Saturday evening in a $2,500
to win FALS Cup event, Mike stopped the clock second quickest
in qualifying, finished second in his heat race, and later placed
fifth in the feature behind only winner Ryan Unzicker, Mckay Wenger,
Tommy Sheppard, Jr., and Titus Sneed. Complete results from each

(June
26, 2022) Mike Spatola III and his Spatola Racing
team headed to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on
Friday night, June 24 for a $1,000 to win weekly Super Late Model
program. Mike timed in seventh quickest overall during the qualifying
session before placing third in his heat race. After rolling off
from the inside of the third row in the A-Main, "Opie"
steered past a trio of racecars during the contest to land in
the runner-up spot behind only victor Tommy Sheppard, Jr. Saturday's
$2,500 to win 'FALS Cup' showdown at Fairbury Speedway was then

Spatola Enters Trio
of Summer Nationals Shows in Busy Week
(June
20, 2022) The #89 team entered a trio of DIRTcar
Summer Nationals shootouts from June 14-19 in the Land of Lincoln.
On Tuesday night in the Summer Nationals opener at Kankakee County
Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois, Mike Spatola III knocked down
the fastest lap in his group during qualifying prior to placing
third in his heat race and twelfth in the $5,000 to win feature
event. Following a few days off, a $10,000 top prize was up for
grabs on Saturday evening at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois.
Mike finished fourth in both his heat race and the B-Main, but
later received a provisional before salvaging a sixteenth place
showing in the 50-lap main event.
The third and final "Hell Tour" program
of the hectic week took place on Sunday at Sycamore Speedway in
Maple Park, Illinois. "Opie" finished sixth in his stacked
heat race and fourth in his B-Main, which forced him to rely on
another provisional to gain access into the $5,000 to win headliner.
Mike was then able to advance past six competitors during the
40-lapper to leave Sycamore with a fourteenth place performance.

"Opie" Lands
on Podium in Pappy and Bob Allen Memorial!

12, 2022) One lone event was on the racing calendar
for the Spatola Racing team over the June 10-11 weekend, as they
ventured to Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday
evening for the annual running of the 'Pappy and Bob Allen Memorial.'
The DIRTcar Super Late Models raced for a $5,000 paycheck last
night at the 1/4-mile oval. Mike Spatola III earned Fast Time
honors overall during the qualifying session prior to placing
third in his heat race. After starting the 30-lap feature from
the inside of the third row, Mike ran in the second spot through
much of the distance before winding up third at the checkers behind
only victor Tanner English and runner-up Ryan Unzicker! Complete

Spatola Slips to Seventh
in $2,500 FALS Cup Showdown

5, 2022) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team found
themselves back at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois
on Saturday evening, June 4. A weekly FALS Cup program was held
last night and a $2,500 top prize was up for grabs for the Super
Late Model competitors. Mike timed in fourth fastest overall during
the qualifying session before running second in his heat race.
After rolling off from the outside of the second row in the 30-lap
headliner, "Opie" ultimately slipped back three spots

Mike Spatola Cashes
$3,000 for First Career MARS Victory!!

30, 2022) The Spatola Racing team captured their
second win of the 2022 campaign and Mike Spatola III earned his
first career MARS Racing Series triumph on Saturday night, May
28 at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois! Mike timed
in third quickest overall during qualifying and won his heat race
to earn the inside of the second row for the start of the 30-lap
sprint. "Opie" then came out on top of a fantastic race
to bag the $3,000 winner's check ahead of runner-up Jason Feger,
Frank Heckenast, Jr., Ryan Unzicker, and Mckay Wenger!
Another MARS Racing Series program took place on
Sunday, May 29 at Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Illinois. The
annual 'Gary Cook, Jr. Memorial' was on tap and a $5,064 payday
was on the line. Mike stopped the clock third fastest overall
once again during qualifying and was leading his heat race until
suffering a broken transmission. The crew quickly made repairs
and the Manhattan, Illinois ace was able to start shotgun on the
field in the 40-lapper before picking off eight competitors en

Mike Spatola Nabs Top Five at Quincy!
(May
23, 2022) After Mother Nature took home victories
with the MARS Racing Series on Friday and Saturday, the #89 team
was finally able to compete again on Sunday, May 22 at Adams County
Speedway in Quincy, Illinois! Mike Spatola III laid down the fifth
quickest time overall during the qualifying session prior to running
second in heat race action. After starting fifth on the grid in
the $7,000 to win headliner, "Opie" was able to move
up one spot during the 40-lapper to leave the former Quincy Raceway
with a solid fourth place performance behind only victor Tommy
Sheppard, Jr., Ryan Unzicker, and Jason Feger! Full results from

Spatola Racing Competes
in Hectic Illinois Speedweek
(May
15, 2022) The four-race "Illinois Speedweek"
kept the Spatola Racing team busy from May 11-14. Things kicked
off in the Land of Lincoln with a pair of $22,022 to win Castrol
FloRacing Night in America Series battles at Spoon River Speedway
in Banner, Illinois and Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois.
On Wednesday night at Spoon River, Mike Spatola III placed fourth
in his loaded heat race, second in his B-Main, and twentieth in
the 50-lap feature. In the second round on Thursday at Lincoln,
Mike ran second in heat race action, but later ran into trouble
during the 50-lapper and was officially placed twentieth in the
final rundown.
The MARS Racing Series then took over the sanctioning
duties over the weekend in a pair of lucrative events at Farmer
City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury Speedway in
Fairbury, Illinois. At Farmer City on Friday evening in a $15,000
to win throwdown, Mike finished eighth in his heat race and twelfth
in his B-Main, which unfortunately kept him out of the 47-lap
main event. In Saturday's speedweek finale at FALS, which boasted
a hefty $30,000 paycheck, Mike was unfortunately not able to transfer
into the 50-lap headliner again after running seventh in his heat

May 7, as the track held it's season opening 'FALS Cup' event.
Mike laid down the ninth fastest lap overall during the qualifying
session prior to securing a heat race triumph. After starting
the $2,500 to win main event from the inside of the second row,
Mike drove up to the second spot in the 30-lapper to earn an impressive
runner-up performance behind only race winner Tommy Sheppard,

Spatola Opens Up 2022
Campaign with Victory at Farmer City Raceway!
(April
24, 2022) The Spatola Racing team kicked off their
2022 campaign in winning fashion on Friday night, April 22 at
Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois! Mike Spatola III
timed in second fastest at the 1/4-mile facility during qualifying
and later won his heat race. After starting the weekly main event
from the pole position, Mike led the final ten circuits around
the fairgrounds oval to pocket the $1,000 winner's check over
Kevin Weaver, Ryan Unzicker, Blaze Burwell, and Jason Wagner!
On Saturday evening, April 23 at Peoria Speedway,
a $5,098 top prize was up for grabs - along with a myriad of other
bonuses - in the 'Garry Swibold Memorial.' Mike knocked down the
second quickest lap overall during qualifying before running second
in his heat race and fourth in the fast dash. After rolling off
from the outside of the second row in the 50-lapper, "Opie"
wound up right where he started in the feature... in the fourth
position behind only race winner Justin Reed, Todd Bennett, and
