(June 22, 2024) The Spatola Racing team invaded Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on Friday night, June 21. A weekly program was on tap last night at FCR and a $1,500 winner's check was up for grabs. Mike Spatola III laid down the fourth quickest lap overall during the Super Late Model qualifying session prior to securing a heat race triumph. Unfortunately, a broken valve spring in the motor while taking the checkers in the heat race forced "Opie" to scratch from the 25-lap feature event. Spatola Returns to Action; Grabs Top Five at Farmer City!
(June 16, 2024) Mike Spatola III returned to dirt-slinging action over the June 14-15 weekend at both Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. In a $1,500 to win weekly program on Friday night at Farmer City, Mike ran second in his heat race prior to placing a strong fifth in the 25-lap main event behind only winner McKay Wenger, Kyle Hammer, Taylor Scheffler, and Donny Walden. At FALS on Saturday evening in a $10,000 to win DIRTcar Summer Nationals battle, "Opie" unfortunately missed out on the 50-lap headliner after finishing fifth in both his heat race and his B-Main. Motor Woes Cost Spatola Possible Top Five at Kankakee
(May 18, 2024) The Spatola Racing team was in the pit area at Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois on Friday night, May 17. The MARS Late Model Championship Series presided over the 'Richard Craven Memorial' and a $5,012 first place prize was on the line. Mike Spatola III laid down the tenth quickest time overall during qualifying prior to grabbing the fourth transfer spot through his heat race. After starting tenth on the grid in the 40-lap feature, "Opie" was up to the fifth spot and looking for more when terminal motor issues relegated him to a disappointing seventeenth place performance. Spatola Racing Transfers into $25,000 Farmer City 74
(May 11, 2024) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team tackled the annual 'Farmer City 74' on Friday night, May 10 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the premier event, which boasted a $25,000 first place prize. With 55 competitors on hand, Mike started his evening by laying down the eleventh quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session. After finishing fifth in his loaded heat race and second in his B-Main, "Opie" was an early retiree in the 74-lap main event and settled for a twenty-ninth place effort. Mike Spatola III Tackles FALS Cup Opener at Fairbury
(May 5, 2024) The opening night of the 2024 season at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois took place on Saturday, May 4 and the Super Late Models raced for a $2,500 top prize. Mike Spatola III stopped the clock fifteenth quickest overall during time trials before running seventh in his heat race. "Opie" then picked off two competitors during the 30-lap 'FALS Cup' feature to claim an eleventh place performance. Spatola Charges to Seventh in Garry Swibold Memorial
(April 28, 2024) Over the rain-soaked weekend, Mike Spatola III and his #89 team competed in one lone event on Saturday evening, April 27 at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois. The MARS Late Model Championship tour presided over the 'Garry Swibold Memorial' and 36 competitors showed up to vie for the $5,098 first place prize money. Mike stopped the clock twelfth quickest in Group A during qualifying prior to finishing fourth in his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row in the 40-lapper, "Opie" picked off eight competitors during the contest to land in the seventh finishing position. Mike Spatola III Competes in Illini 100 Doubleheader
(April 14, 2024) Next up on the racing calendar for Mike Spatola III was the annual running of the 'Illini 100' on April 12-13 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series sanctioned the doubleheader weekend, which started on Friday with a $10,000 to win opener that drew 45 competitors. Mike unfortunately missed out on the 40-lap feature after running tenth in his heat race and eleventh in his B-Main.

A whopping $20,000 first place prize was then on the line on Saturday evening at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds facility. Mike also failed to transfer into the 60-lap headliner after finishing ninth in both his heat race and his B-Main.
