Spatola Breaks Rear-End at Hartford, Climbs to Ninth at FALS
(May 17, 2015) The Spatola Racing team roared into Hartford Speedway in Hartford, Michigan and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on May 15-16 for two more UMP Super Late Model showdowns. On Friday night at Hartford, Mike Spatola III ran third in his heat race and was up to second in the $1,500 to win main event before a broken rear-end knocked him back to a disappointing eighteenth place effort. At FALS on Saturday evening, Mike finished fifth in his heat race, won his B-Main, and later passed six competitors during the $2,000 to win feature event en route to a solid ninth place performance. Mike Spatola III Earns Top Fives in Visits to Farmer City and Fairbury!
(May 3, 2015) Mike Spatola III and his Spatola Racing team entered a pair of weekly UMP Super Late Model programs over the May 1-2 weekend at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois. On Friday night at Farmer City, Mike won his heat race prior to finishing fourth in the $1,000 to win feature event behind only winner Scott Schmitt, Joe Harlan, and McKay Wenger. At FALS on Saturday evening, "Opie" once again won his heat race in preliminary action before winding up third in the $1,200 to win main event behind only victor Scott Schmitt and runner-up Scott Bull. Spatola Racing Competes in Illini 100 Weekend at Farmer City Raceway...
(April 19, 2015) Spatola Racing trekked to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois on April 17-18 for the annual 'Illini 100,' which was once again sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Unfortunately, Mike Spatola III was unable to transfer into both feature events over the action-packed weekend. In the $6,000 to win weekend opener on Friday night, Mike finished fifth in his heat race and fifteenth in his B-Main - due to a wreck. On Saturday evening in the $15,000 to win 'Illini 100' finale, "Opie" got into the wall during qualifying and later ran eleventh in both his heat race and his B-Main. Mike Spatola III Runner-Up in Don Bohlander Tribute at Peoria!
(April 12, 2015) Mike Spatola III and his #89 team rolled into Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois on April 10-11 for a pair of Super Late Model events. On Friday night at Farmer City, a $1,000 paycheck was on the line in a weekly UMP DIRTcar Series show. Mike timed in tenth fastest in qualifying and later ran fourth in heat race action. After starting the A-Main from the outside of the fifth row, "Opie" hung around the top ten before eventually claiming a twelfth place performance against a strong field of competitors.

At Peoria on Saturday evening, the annual running of the 'Don Bohlander Tribute' paid $5,000 to the winner. Mike once again clicked off the tenth quickest lap during time trials prior to scoring the win in heat race action. After rolling off from the pole position in the 50-lap affair, the Manhattan, Illinois ace ran second in the entire distance and finished an impressive runner-up behind only race winner Bobby Pierce. Spatola Racing Kicks Off 2015 Season in Thaw Brawl at LaSalle Speedway
(April 5, 2015) Spatola Racing started their 2015 racing season over the April 3-4 weekend in the annual 'Thaw Brawl' at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois. On Friday night, Mike Spatola III knocked down the quickest lap overall during American Late Model Series (ALMS) qualifying and later finished fifth in his heat race and seventh in the $5,000 to win lid lifter. At LaSalle on Saturday evening, Mike qualified fastest in his group once again and later bagged the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the eighth row in the $15,000 to win headliner, "Opie" drew a late caution in the 75-lapper and was placed sixteenth in the final finishing order.
